For fieldstone or irregular natural stone, a general-purpose segmented blade with a wider kerf resists binding on inconsistent material. Matching arbor size to your saw and never exceeding a blade's rated RPM are two basics that still cause the most on-site blade failures. Crews running high daily cut volume should also budget for blade rotation — running one blade to failure instead of two blades in rotation increases both replacement cost and job delays from overheated, warped blades.
